Have you ever had a friendship, or relationship fizzle out and die? For whatever reason, communication begins to lessen, and you drift away. The same can happen in our relationship with God. However, God isn’t the one who drifts away. He is always near. “The Lord is the One who will go before you. He will be with you; He will not leave or abandon you” (Deuteronomy 31: 8 CSB). It’s always us who drift away from Him. Relationships require both parties to be invested for the relationship to flourish.
“You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29: 13 CSB).
“Seek the Lord and His strength; seek his face always” (1 Chronicles 16: 11 CSB).
“But when you pray, go into your private room, shut your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you” (Mathew 6:6 CSB).
“Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46: 10 NLT).
“I have hidden Your word in my heart” (Psalms 119: 11 NLT).
“He said to them, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind’ ” (Matthew 22:37 CSB).
All of the above verses contain verbs. They require action on our end: to search, seek, pray, love, and even being still requires something from us. Having a relationship with God is not passive. Yet, God still loves us and provides for us even when we drift away from Him, because that’s WHO HE IS. He is faithful to His own, but He wants us to come to Him. He wants us to open up communication with Him and spend time with Him. I know in my own marriage that life gets busy and demanding, and its very easy to go weeks and look at each other and realize that we haven’t spent any time one-on-one. Then, we make time to focus on each other and there’s a renewed energy in the relationship. Make God your first love and make it a priority to spend time with Him daily. Put action into your relationship with God and let Him renew you.
“Let us strive to know the Lord. His appearance is as sure as the dawn. He will come to us like the rain, like the Spring showers that water the land” (Hosea 6:3 CSB).

“Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46: 10 NLT).
This verse speaks most to me during this season. It’s a reminder to not be anxious, but rather to turn my focus to God knowing that He is able to not only relieve my anxiety and fears, but also to replace them with His peace and enfold me in His embrace.

I love the striving to know the Lord verse from Hoses 6:3. To strive means to struggle or fight vigorously. Sometimes it’s a fight to know the Lord because there are so many other distractions that come in and try to compete with the time and attention that should be naturally given to Him alone. So I will continue to do what’s needed to fight against those distractions and strive to know the Lord.

Mattew 6.6 i feel like I’m closer to God when I can pray alone no distractions. I can tell him everything and I just feel like it us and I can hear in my heart in the quiet and just give him my all from theheart.

I’m thankful Crystal that God doesn’t leave us even when we drift away from Him. Relationships are a two way street and take effort, our relationship with the Lord is no different. I like that verse you posted in Hosea. 💕
