The Promise of Spring

I hate winter.  I don’t like to be cold, and it seems winter in Kentucky is basically the rainy season with temperatures in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.  It’s yucky!  I was born to be in the sun.  So, when I looked out my kitchen window this morning to see my neighbor’s tree with pink BUDS I was thrilled!!  The promise of Spring is contained within each tiny sphere.  New life, color, and warmth are waiting patiently to chase away the dreary, gray deadness of winter.  It’s a promise that will be fulfilled.  So, I started thinking, “What are God’s promises?”.   My favorite promise is, “I will NEVER leave you, nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31: 8, Hebrews 13: 5).  Friend, you are a Child of God and the following promises are for YOU!  His promises are more assured than the waiting Spring.

God hears my prayers, and they are important to Him (1 Peter 3:12)

I am a co-heir with Christ and have all spiritual blessings in abundance (Ephesians 1:3)

I am made in God’s image, His works are GOOD (Genesis 1:27)

God is available to me at all times (Psalm 121: 2-8)

God cares about my needs (Matthew 10: 29)

Nothing is too hard for God (Luke 1: 37, Ephesians 3:20)

God loves me (John 3:16-17)

God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23)

God never changes (Hebrews 13:8)

God has forgiven me (Colossians 3:13)

I will find God when I seek Him with all my heart (Jeremiah 29:13)

Jesus understands my weaknesses (Hebrews 4: 15-16)

These are just a few of God’s promises to His children.  You are deeply loved and valued by the Creator of the universe! I pray that this post has refreshed your faith in God’s unfailing promises!  Which one resonates the most with you? Leave a comment and share how God has been faithful in that promise.  Thank you for reading!

  1. God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23)

This is my favorite promise and I understand it more deeply as I have become older and wiser.

No matter what I messed up or failed at today, Jesus is there every morning with arms open wide to start a NEW day. It reminds me of a beautiful sunrise which looks like yesterday, but is truly new every day.

  2. One of my favorite verses is Isaiah 46:4.

4 I will be your God throughout your lifetime—
until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.

This has helped me through lots of difficult days and times. I often keep this thought in my head: He will sustain you. For me, it brings a feeling of inner peace–and that’s what a promise is supposed to do, right? (Or at least, I’d like to think so.)

    Now, bring on Spring!!!!

  3. Being in bible study reading the 23rd psalm the Lord is my shepherd i shall not want. God is there to guide us lead us and give us his everlasting love. I rely on his guidance and love daily. Spring is like a new beginning of promises.

    1. Thank you, Theresa. I love the New Living Translation of that verse, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I have all that I need”.

  4. Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
In this long dreary cold season, I think it’s easy to lose hope in the future tomorrow. Thank you Crystal, I needed to read this today and be reminded of His promises! 💕🤗

  5. I love that you listed Some of God’s promises to us. I forget them so quickly in times of distress. But He IS faithful and will do what He has promised. ❤️

      1. The S was not meant to be capitalized. Silly phone. I don’t know how to edit the comment…
